Nissan has been a regular resident in the highest reaches of the organizations rankings, with the Maxima and Murano also earning TSP+, with the Rogue and Sentra earning Top Safety Pick designations (when equipped with Forward Emergency Braking).

The announcement means that Nissan USA's three best-selling vehicles have all been rated at Top Safety Pick or better by the IIHS, and demonstrates the company's commitment to safety.

"Nissan is very proud to have our best-selling vehicle recognized by IIHS for excellence in vehicle safety," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). "Like the new Maxima and Murano, Altima sets high standards in a very competitive class for styling, performance and value as well as safety. We at Nissan are gratified to see that another of our core models has been recognized for excellent design and vehicle safety."

The all-new 2016 Altima offers an impresive list of standard safety features, along with a number of available safety and convenience enhancements.
  • Predicitive Forward Collision Warning
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Forward Emergency Braking
