The Nissan Altima was introduced in 1993 and has definitely grown up since
it's debut. Over the past two decades, the Altima has developed from it's
original compact-class size to a mid-size sedan. And also from a mediocre
offering to a very good one. It has gradually been upsized and toned down to fit
its mission as Nissan's most mainstream vehicle. Starting out in the compact
family and then going through a strong sporty phase, the Altima is now
considered one of the most comfortable, affordable and fuel efficient family
sedans on the road today. Exceptional seating and an interior that is tightly assembled are some
highlights. The new Altima also boasts more safety and technology, coming with
standard Bluetooth and streaming audio as well as an optional wide-angle
rearview camera, satellite radio and lane-departure warning systems. While other
family sedans have caught up with Altima in regards to technology, it still has
an impressive collection. The 2015 model is largely unchanged but a mid-cycle
refresh is likely on the way for the 2016 model year.
